The nationwide health crisis has led to a widespread ban of dine-in service. Foodservice establishments that provide delectable meals, beverages and entertainment day in and day out are nearly shuttered, and now need our help to make it through this unprecedented moment.
Let’s Step Up!
Buy Gift Cards
Be proactive and provide immediate income to a business. A card can be used in the future for yourself or as a gift to a family member or friend. We all know where we will be when social distancing is over!
Take-Out/Curbside Pick Up
Support an establishment and help with job security for employees by placing orders ‘to-go’ and take advantage of curbside pick up where available.
Delivery
Expanding restaurant service to include delivery in a designated geographic area will keep a business operating while the dining room is shut down. Another option is online ordering and delivery companies, such as Grub Hub, Door Dash and Uber Eats, for establishments without the means or infrastructure to provide their own delivery service.
Help to spread the word that restaurants are open and what type of services they are offering. Take pictures of your food and tag the restaurant.
Tip Generously
If you’re in a position to provide an extra tip, it’s surely appreciated in these difficult times, especially since tipped employees can often be the first to suffer during economic distress.
Dining Bonds
Much like a savings bond, a dining bond allows you to purchase at a lower rate and redeem it for a higher rate in the future. Check out supportrestaurants.org for additional information.
Buy Merchandise or Homemade Products
Look for opportunities to purchase restaurant-branded clothing, merchandise or their special recipe sauce as a great way to refresh your wardrobe or enhance your own home cooking.
