Fourteen TriMark United East Employees Earn Certified Foodservice Professional (CFSP) Certification

SOUTH ATTLEBORO, MA – July 23, 2014 – A total of 14 TriMark United East employees have earned the Certified Foodservice Professional (CFSP) certificate this summer. The CFSP is a certificate that designates industry expertise and experience and demonstrates an individual’s creditability, knowledge, commitment, and dedication to the foodservice industry.

The fourteen TriMark United East employees are:

“The Certified Foodservice Professional (CFSP) credential is the most important industry certification for foodservice professionals. Globally recognized and demanded, the CFSP program will enable TriMark to compete more effectively by providing a more knowledgeable, motivated and better qualified team,” said Joe Thibert, President of TriMark United East.

In order to qualify for the training, the TriMark United East candidates must have achieved a certain level of education and continuation education credits, as well as years of experience.

The TriMark United East candidates participated in study groups after hours to review the curriculum and study guides. After about six months of preparation, participants took the exam. Once they successfully demonstrated mastery of the subject matter and passed the test, they earned their CFSP.

Alan J. Goldberg, CFSP, and Vice President of Contract Sales for TriMark United East helped mentor the individuals at TriMark United East who studied for this exam. “The team at TriMark United East is known for embracing challenge and growth that leads to professional success. Encouraging our people to pursue further education and training, such as the CFSP certification, will help advance their careers, increase their skills and expertise, and ultimately, become a better resource for our customers,” said Goldberg.

Offered by the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM), the CFSP certification training program covers many facets of the foodservice industry including food safety, equipment, facility design, and more.

The CFSP training curriculum includes:
  • Channels of distribution within the foodservice industry
  • Foodservice facility design
  • Utilities, ventilation, dish room operations
  • Food safety and production
  • Receiving and storage
  • Types, sizes and applications of cooking equipment
  • Design considerations in the front and back of the house, and more
