TriMark Gill Marketing Shows Rickenbacker Air National Guard Dining Hall A Modern Way to See Dining

At Rickenbacker Air National Guard dining hall, the 20-year-old serving line was no longer serving its purpose. Service personnel were waiting in line too long, and traffic flow became stagnant. What was perhaps even more important was the fact that the food offerings were limited, and customer satisfaction was low. Enter TriMark Gill Marketing. Working side by side with the designers and subcontractors, they modernized this dining hall into an area that included a panini press, soup and salad bar, grab and go case, and a specialty food bar where customers could pick and choose toppings for items like tacos and potatoes. Today, three TV screens show daily menu choices, and foodservice staff can update and change offerings via mobile tablets. The screens also feature a ticker tape section with news, sports scores, stock market updates, and news from the base.

Project Highlights

  • Major facility remodel included a dining hall serving up to 300-400 people
  • Replaced traditional short order and main line design serving counters with multi-counter serving stations
  • Coordinated details and feedback with customer, designer and subcontractors over a 3- year period
"From the multiple bidding stages, through creation of the design package to the close-out of construction, TriMark Gill Marketing demonstrated the highest level of quality and responsiveness on this demanding project. What we appreciated most about working with the TriMark Gill Marketing team was their ability to cut through the predictable politics of a project, keep everyone happy, and deliver the expected results and then some,” said Sgt. Nicholas Ebert, Dining Facility Manager, for Rickenbacker AFB.
