Position: Inventory Control Analyst

Position Summary
Analyst will be accountable for supporting the materials management group through preparation of monthly reports, initiating inventory transactions, monitoring accruals, research variances and maintain SOX controls and documentation to ensure accurate inventory reporting. Analyst will support operational improvement, efficiency and growth by conducting analyses of  inventory and operations data and help create and maintain metrics across the various DCs and Warehouses and translate these analyses and metrics into actions for TriMark operational and purchasing teams. Analyst will support the development of data sets on an ongoing basis and will be responsible for sense checking and scrubbing data for accuracy.  Analyst will have responsibility for understanding the day-to-day operations and processes of the company with regard to inventory, maintaining the inventory records, and work closely with the operations team to ensure inventory is accurate to support business requirements. Analyst will also support operations Inventory Management teams to comply with Audit requirements and ensure controls are in place. Provide parts and space availability analysis in addition to any needed inventory support. Support inventory management solutions including forecasting and replenishment. Monitor, generate and interprets results of reports necessary to supporting operations. Improves inventory management processes, service levels, and inventory performance and produce detailed analysis with organized conclusions for presentation.
 
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Use large amounts of data and convert it into meaningful data sets that can be used to help operations make decisions on process improvements
  • Create reporting and dashboards to monitor current and future inventory, analyzes root causes of variance from plan while keeping operations informed
  • Calculate KPIs and metrics and provide management reports and presentations
  • Manage reporting relating to inventory and operational data and targets
  • Coordinate and schedule physical inventory counts and provide reporting and reconciliation support for physical inventory reconciliations
  • Generate reports to identify inventory trends and slow moving inventory; provide recommendations and hypotheses on actions to improve based on these reports
  • Primary trainer and subject matter expert in inventory data and analytics
  • Facilitate and manage ongoing inventory review process and action tracking – provide updates for overall impacts
  • Support pricing ‘deal desk’ decisions by analyzing current inventory vs. benchmarks and assessing impact of potential changes
  • Audit applications and processes to ensure data integrity
  • Develop new applications, tools and ad hoc/refreshable reports that support root cause analysis or streamline related processes
  • Work with IT Liaison/JD Edwards project group to develop custom IT program specifications to support user system requirements and perform full system testing prior to implementation.
  • Perform ad hoc projects, analyses and data extractions as assigned

Competencies, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent analytical skills, experience with Excel and PowerPoint and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, and able to prioritize tasks while being flexible and able to work on several projects simultaneously
  • Prior experience in analysis and reporting is required
  • Experience with inventory simulation modeling and/or statistics modeling and simulation tools prefered
  • Experience with Epicor Compass and/or JD Edwards a plus
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Related occupational experience
