Position: Night Shift Warehouse Supervisor

Working collaboratively with the Distribution Center Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor plans, directs and coordinates the transportation, storage and distribution activities for the employees in the distribution department in accordance with organizational policies and applicable government laws or regulations.

Work schedule is Monday-Thursday 3:00 p.m. to finish with a rotating Sunday schedule (10-12 hour shifts)

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Ensuring smooth and accurate flow of our distribution and order fulfillment operations ;
  • Controlling inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling results with inventory management system
  • Leading and overseeing the receiving, picking, and shipping activities of 15-20 hourly employees
  • Recruit, hire, orient, train, coach, counsel, appraise and discipline staff as required
  • Perform essential employee training, including forklift and safe operating procedures
  • Enforces all federal, state and local warehousing , material handling and shipping requirements advises management on needed actions
  • Ensures compliance with all safety initiatives including safety committee, forklift safety, safe lifting, general housekeeping and HAZMAT
  • Identifying areas for improvement in distribution operations, as well as suggesting and implementing a course of action.

  • People-oriented, self-motivated, aggressive yet flexible
  • Ability to bend, lift, push or pull up to 75 lbs
  • MS Office proficiency with intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience with conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated success in collaboration with vendors
  • Proven success as a leader and team builder while motivating and directing staff
  • Track record of change management and continuous improvement
  • Must be detail oriented, hands on and positive with a strong work ethic, with a customer focus
  • Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations (non-CDL drivers)
  • Working knowledge of inventory control procedures
  • Truck load and LTL tariff and logistics knowledge

Education & Experience

  • Experience with automated warehouse management system including on line RF devices
  • Prior experience managing to a budget
  • Prior management experience with departments of 15+ employees
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in distribution center management with a history of efficiency, safety and execution.
