Position: Warehouse Lead

Position Summary/Objective:
Receives, stores, moves distributes inventory per company protocol.  Operates powered industrial equipment and utilizes technology to obtain company objectives.  Directs work flow on behalf of facility management and provides leadership and training for less experienced employees.  Ensures safety and security standards are followed.
 
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Receives, checks in, records and locates inbound inventory into warehouse locations.
  • Ensures inventory accuracy through cycle counting and auditing processes.
  • Ensures safety and security standards are being adhered to by the staff.
  • Communicates with other departments and vendors as needed to complete tasks and meet customer demands.
  • Operates powered industrial equipment in a safe manner to accomplish company goals.
  • Communicates issues and opportunities to facility management.
  • Utilizes RF and computer equipment to ensure all physical activities are replicated in the warehouse system.
  • Monitors supplies usage and report opportunities to facility management.
  • Maintains facility cleanliness and inventory accuracy.
  • Directs work flow on behalf of facility management and follow through with tasks assigned to others.
  • Prepares and submits receiving documents and attach to shipments.
  • Communicates with freight carriers in writing and verbally as needed.
  • Ability to run the department in the absence of site management.
  • Serves as a resource in the resolution of problems and issues.
Competencies, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum:
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to repetitively lift 20 lbs. throughout the day and occasionally up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to drive a forklift.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform addition, subtraction multiplication and division with or without the use of a calculator.
  • Self-starter that takes the initiative to start and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to motivate staff to meet department objectives.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word to communicate and Excel to analyze and report on data.
Preferred:
  • Forklift certification upon hire or ability to become certified within first week of employment.
  • Ability to write shot communications using appropriate language, punctuation and verbiage.
Education and Experience:
Minimum:
  • High School Diploma or GED; and,
  • 48 months related experience and/or training;
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Preferred:
  • Post-Secondary (supply chain, logistics, distribution) education/coursework preferred.
