Position: PC Desktop Technician

Position Summary/Objective

 

Familiar with a variety of IT support concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and  judgment to plan and
accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. 
Manages personal computer hardware and software systems and provides technical 
assistance and training to system users by performing the following duties.  Reports to IT manager.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Setup and train employees on corporate systems – PC’s, phone (VoIP), Voicemail
  • Software installation on computer systems (Windows 10 - PC’s, laptops and tablets)
  • Troubleshoot/diagnose computer hardware, software, peripherals and cell phones issues
  • Instructs users in use of equipment, software, and systems
  • Build user accounts in Active Directory and Exchange/o365
  • Assist in desktop, laptop, and network printer deployment
  • Image new systems and build systems from existing images
  • Documents instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal
  • Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems
  • Inspects computer systems and user requirements to determine need for upgrades
  • Provides updates, status, and completion information in help desk ticketing system

Language Ability:

Minimum:

  • Strong troubleshooting, customer service, communication, and organizational skills

Computer Skills:

Minimum:

  • Proficiency in the setup and installation of Windows 10
  • Proficiency in a system setup and troubleshooting in a networked environment
  • Proficiency in the setup and installation of Microsoft Office (2016 and 365)
  • Proficiency in the setup of peripheral devices – printers, mobile phones (Android/iOS) and Active Sync

Education & Experience

Minimum:

  • 2 years related experience

Preferred:

  • Associate or undergraduate degree in related fields.
