Position: Distribution Center Operations Manager

Position Summary/Objective

Directs and coordinates daily activities of workers engaged in receiving, crating, moving, storing, picking, delivering and shipping company inventory.  Ensures operational excellence is achieved through established best practices, continuous improvement, and company values.  Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse by holding employees accountable to set standards.  Meets daily deadlines and goals. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs, and is accountable for warehouse operations, fleet deliveries, equipment, and systems
  • Partners with all departments, internal and external, related to purchasing, transportation, accounting, customer service and sales
  • Resolves a wide range of issues from daily processes
  • Meets deadlines and service level agreements
  • Monitors and makes changes in processes to ensure work is preformed safely and efficiently
  • Manages the life cycle of personnel including interviewing, hiring, rewarding, disciplining, and termination
  • Performs root cause analysis on customer complaints, inventory discrepancies, damages, and missed delivery times
  • Manages hours to meet or exceed budget while maintaining operational excellence
  • Manages building and facilities to include maintenance, improvements, safety and security
  • Accountable for the overall financial performance of the facility against budget
  • Submits weekly status report

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of progressive experience in a fast paced warehouse with a minimum of 8 years managing and leading large, diverse teams to success. 
  • Experience with P&L accountability, budgets, inventory management, and delivery fleet is preferred
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification is preferred
  • Prior commercial kitchen equipment experience a plus
