Position: Vice President of Design Build

Overview

  • The VPDB is accountable for the Center of Excellence delivery of the Design - Build projects portfolio from inception to completion. This portfolio includes projects requiring singular or repeat design or design assist including emerging brands and select chains.  In addition, will also oversee new business and new vertical development to ensure growth and diversification including satellite design studios.
  • The VPDB will have overall fiscal and customer satisfaction responsibility for the Design - Build Business Unit.  The responsibility will include developing and implementing the Unit’s Strategic Plan with an emphasis on TriMark’s growth strategy while achieving targeted KPI’s.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Development of the long-term growth strategy for the Business Unit.  Responsibilities will include evaluating and making recommendations for acquisitions or building of new business verticals. This will be achieved by utilizing strategic planning skills; ongoing competitive analysis, marketing plans, pricing and go to market strategies.
  • Has a continual open perspective, exposure to best practices, continuous improvement and BSC management through engaged employees and aligned with TriMark USA National standards. 
  • Responsible for the expanding of the Design Studio Center of Excellence in the region via existing Division or satellite offices.
  • Assists in the preparation of the Business Units annual budget and is responsible for the P&L and managing all unit budgets as well as revenue targets.
  • Presents timely status updates for all projects to both senior management and outside stakeholders.
  • Maintains current knowledge relative to technology, vendors, subcontractors and products by networking, attending seminars, trainings, review meetings and participation in trade association meetings.  
  • Oversees the development of TriMark design standards with other TriMark division leaders and implementation of ongoing brand aesthetic policy while leveraging current technology for a higher rate of return on the division’s investment.
  • Works closely with the Vice President of Operations, Contract Services and shared resources group leaders to sell design services and to prepare and/or present design proposals.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of design experience in the foodservice industry or equivalent.
Preferred
  • CFSP or FSCI certification or similar/equivalent certification.
  • Certification in project management
  • Recent, successful leadership experience within the company or in a similar role
