Position: National Account Sales

Position Summary/Objective

In the National Account Sales position, you will lead the SBU’s efforts to maintain and expand relationships with large, multi-location clients.

  • Direct responsibility for maintaining relationships of current National Accounts while expanding account wallet size as well as identifying and creating strategic plans to grow and diversify this segment.
  • The NAS is responsible for achieving sales quota and assigned strategic account objectives.
  • Will work in tandem with DBD to close emerging brands or new multiunit concepts.
  • Evaluate National Account Managers/Project Executives workloads and assign projects based on workload and expertise required for each project.
  • Coordinate with the Operations department shared resources to ensure that project executives have adequate support.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Development of the long-term growth strategy for the National Account revenue segment.  This will be achieved by utilizing strategic planning skills; ongoing competitive analysis, marketing plans, pricing and go to market strategies.
  • Meet with Account Managers/Project Executives to analyze gross revenue and net profit throughout all phases of the projects
  • Participate in the hiring and training of Account Managers/Project Executives.
  • Developing Accounts; this requires communication, creativity, and being vigilant about understanding your clients’ future goals and needs; penetrating the client at all levels.
  • Has a continual open perspective, exposure to best practices, continuous improvement and BSC management through engaged employees and aligned with TriMark USA National standards. 
  • Responsible for the expanding of the National Accounts Center of Excellence in the region.
  • Assists in the preparation of the Business Units annual budget and is responsible for the National Accounts P&L and managing all unit budgets as well as revenue targets.
  • Presents timely status updates for all projects to senior management.
  • Maintains current knowledge relative to technology, vendors, subcontractors and products by networking, attending seminars, trainings, review meetings and participation in trade association meetings. 
  • Monitors and reports on the National Accounts retention and growth rates.
  • Works closely with the Vice President of Operations, Contract Services and shared resources group leaders to execute and grow National Accounts.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience sales experience in the foodservice industry or equivalent.
  • History of successful managing of teams to achieve strategic goals.
  • Recent, successful leadership experience and sales growth within the company or in a similar role
  • CFSP or FSCI certification or similar / equivalent certification.
Competencies, Skills and Abilities
  • Effective communication skills of all types that would include ability to write reports and procedure manuals and to present to all levels of internal/external customers and to reach all in a responsive & respectful manner.
  • 10+ years of experience sales experience in the foodservice industry or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills, ability to multi task.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (word, power point & excel); ability to learn company specific systems to manage business and to present information
