Position: Senior IT Program Manager

The Senior IT Program Manager (PM) is required to work collaboratively with functional and technical project team members, a variety business and IT executives and third-party partners to achieve current and future highly complex program objectives. This is a multi-year initiative inclusive of multiple deployments to all divisions within the US. The solution is an ORACLE based all-inclusive solution comprised of several integrated applications into JDE. This individual will be responsible for managing established program goals and objectives, developing and implementing project management guidelines and managing project standards. The Sr. IT PM is also responsible for delivering daily, weekly, and executive level status reporting on the overall program as well as individual functional areas. Manages a detailed integrated project plan for all functional, technical, QA, conversion and training activities; has overall accountability for timelines, issue and risk mitigation and escalation to senior management.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and oversee all aspects of the program
  • For each divisional rollout, establish the major implementation milestone dates and check points inclusive of the technical solution, conversion and training aspects of the release
  • Develop & maintain project documentation throughout all stages of the project lifecycle
  • Identify and assist the team in the management, mitigation and resolution of project related issues, risks and conflicts as needed
  • Manage relationships with the project team, third-party resources and divisional business groups
  • Ensure all required project management documents are developed, completed and signed at the appropriate review gate by the appropriate parties
  • Ensure all written deliverables and artifacts are stored to the appropriate repository
  • In collaboration with the functional / technical leads, ensure tasks and activities align to the project plan
  • Hold team accountable for completing activates based upon agreed timeline
  • Assist with identifying, documenting and bringing to resolution any critical issues and risks that may impact the agreed upon schedule, budget and scope
  • Manage the project change request process and facilitate the approval process for requests as needed
  • Escalate unresolved issues to IT leadership in accordance with internal project policies
  • Report program progress to a variety of levels (e.g. Project Team, Steering Committee, IT Leadership, Business Leadership, etc.) and recommend corrective action when necessary

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

  • PMP, Agile, Scrum Master, Scheduling or another Project Management-related certification
  • Demonstrated ability to work with business and IT partners of all levels
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy to understand business terms to all levels of management including business analysts, technical resources, business and IT executive leadership
  • Ability to effectively, and independently, manage multiple competing priorities with high attention to detail; requires creative problem solving, strong organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Excellent analytical ability to quickly gather facts, perform root cause analysis and draw conclusions in collaboration with the Project Team
  • Ability to lead and work under pressure; independently make decisions at the project team level and properly escalate those decisions that cannot be resolved in a timely basis
  • Working knowledge of JD Edwards, Oracle Sales Cloud, Oracle Configure Price Quote (CPQ) or similar Enterprise Applications
  • Working knowledge of the complexity of conversion activities
  • Working knowledge of Lean techniques and principals

Education & Experience

  • 10+ years of recent work experience as a project manager, managing complex Enterprise scale project plans and status reporting (JD Edwards with third party integration highly preferred)
  • Bachelor degree; in a technical field preferred
  • Experience as a conversion lead
  • Experience working with MS Project to build detailed project schedules with dependencies
  • Experience working with various IT industry standards (i.e., ITIL, COBIT, CMMI)
  • This position is in Mansfield, MA; this is not a remote position
  • Travel: during peak periods up to 50% required
