Position: Master Data Steward

The Master Data Steward is responsible for all master data within the JDE ERP system. Candidate will assist with creating requirements for changes to master data models as well as maintain data integrity within the JDE ERP system. Candidate will ensure compliance within the data governance policies as well as resolve data quality requests and issues. The Master Data Steward will work in a highly collaborative manner with several departments across the company to ensure new Customers, Suppliers and Items are added in an accurate and timely manner, as well as support associates changes to records.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain master data attributes for customers, suppliers and items.
  • Perform validation and corrections via audit reports to ensure standardization daily
  • Work as part of the Master Data Management team to recommended changes to improve process efficiencies, ensuring timely and professionally communication to users, management, and senior leadership with repetitive issues
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to validate adherence to master data policies and communicate non-adherence were appropriate
  • Application of best business practices for mass data updates as appropriate
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the master data governance operations
  • Develop standard procedures, user guides and other necessary training and job aid materials, along with provide training as needed
  • Utilize analytical skills to identify trends (utilize excel to perform analysis)

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

  • High attention to detail when performing data entry and analysis
  • Capable of communicating and collaborating with key business stakeholders and a professional and timely manner
  • General understanding of databases
  • Strong analytical skills, detailed and process oriented
  • Ability to create and report on master data metrics using graphical representation (prior scorecard or visual management experience a plus)
  • Ability to work as part of a team to drive results
  • Process and service oriented
  • Experience in developing key documentation, user guides, and other necessary training materials
  • Experience in cross training team members and key users
  • Six Sigma/Lean experience a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology or related field
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in data management with a high focus on data entry and data analysis
  • Experience working with ERP systems, JD Edwards preferred
  • Advanced PowerPoint, Strong/advanced excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, charts, macros, if statements), SQL a plus
  • Food service industry experience preferred
  • Purchasing experience a plus
