Position: IT Director of Business Applications, Sales & Marketing

The Director of Business Applications is accountable for managing the applications supporting the Sales and Marketing Functions (Eloqua, eCommerce, CRM, and CPQ) with a heavy initial focus on the CPQ solution. The Director of Business Applications will build out the business application capability and will directly manage Business Application Leads, Business System Analysts, as well as third party contractors and consultants. The Director of Business Applications is the senior IT representative for the business function(s) aligned to their portfolio. This is a highly visible and influential role that supports a number of critical business functions. This position requires strong knowledge of both business process and technology to drive IT solutions that align with TriMark’s business objectives.

The primary responsibilities include application portfolio management with a focus on rolling out the Enterprise Applications to all of Trimark’s divisions and ensuring the successful delivery of application enhancements and the delivery of new applications. The director will also assume a leadership role in partnering with senior business leaders in quantifying business challenges and gaps and defining business cases to enable IT solutions to support business priorities. Enhancing and expanding the functionality of the CPQ solution is an initial high priority for this role.

Additionally, the director will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of quality and service and maintaining a strong communication channel with the business community and IT partners. The director will work collaboratively with peers from other functional and technology domains on complex cross functional activities, in the definition and maintenance of functional roadmaps, as well as process improvement initiatives tied to the Enterprise Applications.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Provides end to end oversight and accountability for the applications in their portfolio.
  • Ensures that functional work on projects are properly resourced and meet business objectives with a high degree of quality.
  • Ensures that team members are fully allocated; brings on third party resources as required.
  • Ensures that functional standards and best practices are published, maintained, and enforced.
  • Acts as the senior contact point for IT engagement and escalations for their functional areas.
  • Partners with business leaders and other IT teams on options to solve complex business problems including defining the objective, business benefits, high level solution options and approach; incorporates these components into a business case when required.
  • Ensures that the applications are properly supported; monitors and tracks support SLAs
  • Provides resource supervision including but not limited to career development, behavioral management, goal setting, and performance evaluations.
  • Provides vision and best practices for their team.
  • Analyzes operational and project metrics/KPIs to ensure quality and operational efficiency; provides process improvement guidance.
  • Maintains an application roadmap for applications residing in their domain; roadmap includes enhancements to existing applications, migrations to Enterprise solutions, and application consolidation opportunities.
  • Partners with peers in the definition and implementation of cross functional and Enterprise solutions.
  • Partners with Enterprise Application leadership and Architecture in defining, maintaining, and publishing future state domain and capability roadmaps.
  • Provides input into the annual IT project portfolio.
  • Influences decisions made within partner organizations.
  • Performs other activities as assigned such as vendor RFPs, special projects, etc.

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

  • High degree of knowledge with Business Analysis competencies (requirements elicitation and management, business process mapping, data flow modeling, functional specifications, and test scenarios). IIBA or similar certification preferred.

Education & Experience

  • 15+ years overall IT experience; 10+ in a leadership role
  • Experience working with Sales and Marketing business processes and applications.
  • Experience with Oracle CPQ is required
  • Experience with Oracle Marketing Cloud, Oracle Sales Cloud, and/or Oracle ATG strongly preferred
  • Experience working with system integrators leveraging a Global Workforce preferred
  • Experience with business relationship management, business process design and change management
  • Experience translating business problems into IT solutions via a structured business case process.
  • Extensive experience with business process, business analysis, quality assurance, and resource management methodologies and best practices.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and or Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • This position is in Mansfield, MA; this is not a remote position
  • Travel: during peak periods up to 20% required
