Position: Director, Ecommerce Application

The Business Application Director is accountable for managing the applications supporting eCommerce Function. The Business Application Director will directly manage a distributed team of Business Analysts and Business Leads as well as third party contractors and consultants. The Business Application Director is the primary IT representative to the business functions aligned to their applications. This is a highly visible and influential role that supports a number of critical business processes. This position requires strong knowledge of both business process and technology to drive IT solutions that align with TriMark’s business objectives.

The primary responsibilities include active application lifecycle management with a focus on rolling out the Enterprise Applications to all of Trimark’s divisions and ensuring the successful delivery of application enhancements and the delivery of new applications. The business application director will also partner with business leaders in quantifying business challenges and gaps and ensuring the IT solutions support business priorities.

Additionally, the director will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of quality and service and maintaining a strong communication channel with the business community and IT partners. The manager will work collaboratively with peers from other application and technology domains on cross functional activities, in the definition and maintenance of application roadmaps, as well as process improvement initiatives tied to the Enterprise Applications.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Develop IT application vision, strategy and roadmap for eCommerce applications together with Marketing and eCommerce business team. Successful execution of the roadmap to meet business needs.
  • Provides end to end oversight and accountability for the applications in their portfolio.
  • Ensures that project work for their applications are properly scoped and meet business objectives with a high degree of quality.
  • Provides estimates for functional deliverables for projects aligned to their applications.
  • Reviews team’s deliverables to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
  • Ensures team deliverables are compliant with functional standards and IT processes.
  • Leads the functional design process for complex solutions
  • Maintains end user training materials and partners with super user community for any required revisions
  • Acts as the primary contact point for IT engagement and escalations for their applications and/or business processes.
  • Partners with business leaders and other IT teams on options to solve business problems including business requirements, solution options and approach; incorporates these components into a business case when required.
  • Ensures that the applications are properly supported and that all Level 2 help desk tickets are resolved within defined SLAs
  • Works with the Help Desk to understand application support metrics and identifies project and enhancement opportunities to improve application stability and the user experience.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and solution direction to functional resources assigned project work changing or enhancing the applications in their portfolio. Provides input into end of year performance evaluations.
  • Ensures that team members are fully allocated; brings on third party resources as required.
  • Provides resource supervision including but not limited to career development, behavioral management, goal setting, and performance evaluations.
  • Provides guidance and sets best practices for their team.
  • Provides input into the application roadmap process and maintenance for applications in their domain.
  • Partners with peers in the implementation and maintenance of cross functional and Enterprise solutions.
  • Supports Enterprise Application leadership and Architecture in defining, maintaining, and publishing future state domain and capability roadmaps.
  • Performs other activities as assigned such as vendor RFPs, special projects, etc.

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of Business Analysis competencies (requirements elicitation and management, business process mapping, data flow modeling, functional specifications, and test scenarios). IIBA or similar certification preferred.

Education & Experience

  • 10+ years overall IT experience; 5+ in an eCommerce IT leadership role
  • Experience working with eCommerce (Ordering Portal, Search, Pricing) business processes and applications.
  • Experience with Oracle ATG is required
  • Experience with Endecca, Oracle Marketing Cloud, and/or Oracle Sales Cloud strongly preferred
  • Experience with JD Edwards strongly preferred
  • Experience working with system integrators leveraging a global workforce preferred
  • Experience executing the functional components of IT solutions via a structured methodology.
  • Experience with business analysis, quality assurance, and resource management methodologies and best practices.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and/or Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • This position is in Mansfield, MA; this is not a remote position
  • Travel: during peak periods up to 75% required
