Position: Credit Manager
The Credit Manager is accountable for the entire credit management, and contract management functions of the organization.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Manage and oversee all credit functions for all division locations

Establish credit terms
-
Establish procedures for control of assets, records, loan collateral, or securities to ensure safekeeping
-
Ensure that department remains in compliance with state, and federal procedures.
-
Protect corporate assets by filing necessary liens/UCC’s where applicable
-
Review contracts for proper language prior to acceptance
-
Work closely with Contract Administration to ensure non-system invoices are issued in a timely manner and deposits are received within timeframes outlined in contract terms
-
Supervise Credit Analysts and manage workflow
-
Maintain appropriate staffing levels to meet the credit needs of the organization and customers
-
Develop and utilize performance metrics of Credit Department
-
Assist in modifying processes and procedures to maximize efficiency
-
Effectively utilize technology to aid in managing department productivity
-
Audit delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectible to ensure maximum efforts have been taken before assigning bad debt status to account.

Be liaison and collaborate with collection attorneys
-
Analyze credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit to customer
-
Exercise wise judgment when making risk assessment decisions regarding terms, credit limits, and payment plans, assessing trade references, and customer history
-
Manage credit exceptions in an organized manner
-
Facilitate and assess amendments to/for credit limits and terms consideration for existing customers
-
Advises planning and production departments of contractual rights and obligations in regards to credit and receivables
-
Coordinate work of sales department with production and shipping departments to ensure credit fulfillment of contractual obligations
-
Act as liaison between Sales, Accounting, Credit, Design, & Management for proper adherence to policies and approvals
-
Consult with customers to resolve complaints and verify financial and credit transactions through research and effective communication with customer, Sales, and Accounting
-
Communicate and appropriately elevate A/R concerns and resolutions through preparation and distribution of A/R aging to CFO
-
Conduct Credit training for new hires of the organization

Attend NACM meetings as requested

Conduct oneself in a professional manner that fosters positive relationships with internal (company personnel) and external (credit reporting agencies, credit insurance providers, customers) customers

Protects Company’s value by keeping information confidential

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

Committed to growth in understanding of foodservice industry

Strong business acumen with concentration in Accounting and Credit

Strong working knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data

Thoroughly knowledgeable credit-related laws

Accurately interpret credit reports

Clean Credit background
Preferred
-
Experience using AS400 or similar “green screen” program utilizing function for navigation
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
-
NACM certified
Preferred Training:
-
Fair Credit Practices training
Essential Experience:
-
10 years progressive Credit experience
-
2 years Credit Manager for an $75M+ organization
Preferred Experience:
-
Experience in foodservice sales or distribution
-
Corporate contract sales experience
