Position: Operations Manager - Albany, GA

Position Summary: The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the local functions of site teams, including: in-house sales, administration, inventory management, financial management, planning, systems and controls and employee development.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operational functions for regional office.
  • Work to continuously improve operational systems, processes and policies, support better management reporting, information flow, personnel management, business process, and organizational planning.  Partner with local warehouse management to ensure efficient and effective operational flow.
  • Analyze and understand financial results of the organization.  This includes working capital and all profit and loss components.  Work with senior management to develop and enact strategies to support desired results and mitigate areas of risk. 
  • Support, coach, and mentor local staff members for best performance, productivity, and employee satisfaction.
  • Work with teams to develop, communicate, enforce and monitor effective department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Keep senior management promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary, suggesting alternative courses of action which may be taken.
  • Create annual department goals and budgets in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives.
  • Develop and consistently monitor productivity measures for staff and functional areas as appropriate.
  • Enforce all site workplace safety policy and regulations, human resource policies and procedures, and other field specific guidelines that may be in place, or put in place, by the organization.
  • Conduct employee appraisals, coaching, counseling, and progressive discipline recommending salary adjustments, transfers, promotions, and dismissals review ongoing performance results to target goals.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established Company policies to achieve the overall objectives
  • Foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate conductive to maximize employee morale and productivity
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university preferred, or 5+ years’ experience in a management role
  • Basic understanding of financial principles relative to business operations, profit and loss and balance sheet
  • Ability to work extended hours and occasional weekends if required
  • Background in distribution operations, process, and procedures helpful
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
