Position: Customer Service Associate (Transportation) - Coppell, TX

Position Summary: The Customer Service Associate (Transportation) is responsible for providing superior customer service to internal customers (employees) as well external customers (manufacturers/suppliers and approved freight carriers).  Under limited supervision, this position will assist company stakeholders in freight related requests as it pertains to day-to-day operations, including but not limited to attaining freight quotes, scheduling shipments for pickup and delivery, and assisting in the tracking of in-transit shipments.
 
Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Assist in quoting, scheduling, and tracking all freight activities: LTL, TL, Small Parcel, and Special Moves
  • Support internal customer to find most efficient transportation mode for various situations.
  • Audit all shipper freight invoices to assure freight charges are being invoiced at the correct amount
  • Facilitate communication for updates on expected arrivals, abnormal delays, and expectations to distribution center and other internal customers
  • Contribute to department goals by handling appropriate call volumes and assisting the department in meeting overall goals and budgets
  • Maintain, develop, and facilitate relationships with internal customers, vendors, and carriers
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A College degree is preferred, but a combination of work experience and certifications will be accepted for the right candidate
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Proficient computer skills including  Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Heavy phone volume and data entry experience preferred
  • Transportation experience a plus
