Position: Vice President National Sales

The Vice President National Sales will be responsible for growing sales and EBITDA in our National Chain and Contract Business. This person will also be tasked with developing all employees as well as our next leaders in the company. There may be some General Management responsibilities as well as mentoring other management throughout the company.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the operations of National Chain and Contract Sales
  • Communicate vision, values, strategy, and direction as a member of the Senior Management Team
  • Build strong relationships with key customers, vendors, and organizational staff, that promotes collaboration and loyalty, which translates into increased revenues
  • Develop strategy through analysis, innovation, and continuous improvement, to grow revenues year-over-year
  • Devise plan, and deliver on, increased margins on customer by customer, and job/sale by job/sale basis
  • Conduct regular and timely reviews on accounts, to evaluate clients’ demands; identify and address any, and all service gaps, while maintaining adherence to meeting organizational objectives
  • Impart knowledge and execution of best-demonstrated practices, to develop standard work practices, while encouraging engagement to gain adaptation and sustainability
  • Develop employees within the organization to develop requisite skills and competencies needed to “close deals”
  • Provide coaching and mentoring, while collaborating with other departments such as Bid/Estimating departments as needed
  • Team with internal departments as needed, to address any customer, or service-related issues throughout the customer experience process
  • Establish a communication platform which ensures our customers know the breadth and depth of the company’s entire product and services offering, and which makes their experience easier, and more rewarding to do continued business with us
  • Obtain full working knowledge of rebates, sheltered income, and discount mastery
  • Remain current on product knowledge through attendance of sales meetings, vendor trainings, reading industry related publications, and participating in industry related professional organizations
  • May periodically assume limited General Manager responsibilities as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned or evolve

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record with reliable transportation
  • Due to customer schedules, need to be flexible in working evenings or weekends if necessary
Preferred           
  • Understanding of integrated systems
  • Proficiency with order entry system (AutoQuotes, Oracle operating systems)
  •  Ability to travel 25% or more
Education & Experience
Essential Education:
  • Bachelor’s Business, Marketing, or related field or Culinary Degree
  • Must complete CFSP Test within first 3 years of employment
Preferred Education:
  • Master’s in Business or Marketing
Essential Experience:
  • 10 years business-business sales experience with multimillion-dollar customers
  • 10 years industry related experience
Preferred Experience:
  • 15 years sales experience in foodservice/hospitality management and/or foodservice sales
  • Experience in a distribution environment
