Position: Press Shear/Press Brake Fabricator

Position Summary
Sheet metal fabricator performs duties required to build, cut and finish sheet metal. This work involves setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over blocks or forms using hammers; inspecting and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces.
Job Responsibilities

  • Operate finishing equipment with skill and accuracy
  • Grind and polish using hand tools and hand-held power tools.
  • Utilize stainless steel equipment and parts to remove excess material and burrs from surfaces
  • Accurately read and interpret blue prints to determine machine and material settings.
  • Sets up, adjusts and safely operates machine by selecting proper punches, stops, and guides.
  • Maintain the machine including quality checks, routine maintenance, and request repairs as needed.
  • Demonstrated consistent production of usable product that meets specifications of drawings.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, and or overhead positions.
  • Quality checks ensuring work is free from defects, and manufactured to given specifications.

  • Ability to follow safe work practices and policies
  • Demonstrated ability for clarity in written, and spoken communication
  • Strong Mathematical Skills including ability to add, subtract, and use of fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints with knowledge of engineered specific tolerances
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years or more experience operating and programming press brake machines preferred
  • Solid background working with Sheet Metal
  • Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance
  • Basic computer skills
